Target group
Youth workers in NGOs in Hungary supported by its sending organization. The participants have to prove English language knowledge at level B2. (with certificate etc)
Aims
The course will improve the student's competence in general English skills, including Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. Some grammar will also be covered. The course will also give the student practice and confidence in the specialist field of youth work, including working with graphs and statistics, building up vocabulary, and ability to discuss issues in English.
Content
- Reading articles related to youth field
- Vocabulary related to the field
- Speaking practice related to the field
- Selected grammar, revision of irregular verbs, etc
- Writing emails, letters, reports, articles
- Giving presentations
- Listening exercises
- Pronunciation and general speaking activities
Methods
Communicative methods will be used on the course. Pairwork, groupwork, information gap activities, games etc will help students to communicate more effectively in English.

Self-study tasks
Students are expected to do a limited amount of homework. Typically, this would consist of either writing tasks, learning vocabulary, reading texts in preparation for the lesson, or revision

Continuous assessment, Regular revision
Participation fee
10 000 HUF for the 40 lessons
Group size
Max. 15 people (each participant has to attend at least 80% of the 40 lessons)
